
The other thing that the precipitation summary shows clearly is the profound effects of rainshadowing downstream of the Olympics for a good part of the day.
Quite a bit of snow shower activity now in the central Puget Sound between the northerly and southerly air streams, with a number of areas getting whitened, but very few near the Sound experiencing the kind of totals that were in the forecast. Snow showers have been particularly heavy near Renton--you can see the snow on the roads there:
